How to tell if a windshield chip has been filled?

You can tell a windshield chip has been filled by checking its look and feel. After repair, the chip should appear clear or slightly faded instead of dark and hollow. When you run your finger over it, the surface should feel smooth and even, without sharp edges catching your skin. A good repair also gives the glass a more solid, smooth sound when tapped, and sometimes the area may feel slightly tacky or sticky right after the resin has been cured. Most importantly, the chip should no longer spread or affect your visibility while driving.
