Right of Way Agent - Real Estate Professional

• Acquire Rights of Way and manage projects assigned to consulting firms for construction and maintenance of the State Transportation Network.


• Provide Right of Way information/documentation within NCDOT, to the public, and other government agencies.


• Assist, manage, and coordinate highway right of way acquisitions and relocations on primary, secondary, urban and other projects assigned to the Division.


• Explain right of way concepts and procedures by written and verbal communication.


• Monitor and track schedules and workloads to ensure timely right of way acquisition completion and project letting.


• Assist in coordinating right of way acquisition activities with government agencies, other units, and property owners.


• Safely operate a motor vehicle and use a state vehicle for business.

• Experience composing written communication effectively for different audiences.


• Project management experience managing multiple priorities within specified time constraints.


• Experience performing work-related task/duties independently or with limited supervision.


• Experience preparing and researching legal instruments & public records.


• Knowledge of plan reading.

• Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Real Estate or related field (i.e., Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture), and


• 2+ years of experience in general real estate; or

• High School/GED degree, and


• 7+ years of experience in general real estate; or

• An equivalent combination or education and experience.
